As an advocate for his community, Joshua is committed to changing systemic disparities that impact communities of color. He has been at the forefront of change since he was 11 years old. Joshua grew up in South Los Angeles and is an alumnus of Manual Arts High School and Community Coalition’s South Central Youth Empowered through Action (SCYEA). As a student, Joshua organized with the Brothers, Sons, Selves (BSS) Coalition as a Youth Ambassador and helped to craft the School Climate Bill of Rights which banned willful defiance as grounds for suspensions in LAUSD schools. In his current role, Joshua provides administrative support to the BSS Coalition which InnerCity Struggle anchors and is working to improve outcomes for boys and young men of color.
