Waldo Gonzalez became passionately involved with social justice as a youth when he participated in the 2006 High School Walkouts in support of immigrant and human rights. While attending Cal State Long Beach and graduating in 2011 with a B.A. in Chicano & Latino Studies and Psychology - he developed a strong desire to expand college access for first-generation students of color and to work toward addressing the root causes of the opportunity gap in education. After graduating from UCLA’s Graduate School of Education in 2012, Waldo began working at InnerCity Struggle as a Site Organizer at Wilson and Lincoln High School. Waldo believes that access to a quality education means our communities can access a life of freedom, opportunity, and health. He currently serves as Development Associate where he supports with organizational fundraising and sustainability.
